The car buying service is a ShopRite member benefit, available through our affiliated unions, charities and organisations across Western Australia. If you’re a member, sign in to get started — or register for free if you haven’t set up your account yet.
What does it cost to get a quote?
There’s no cost to enquire or to have our team look into a vehicle for you — it’s part of your ShopRite membership. You only pay for the car itself once you decide to go ahead.
What types of vehicles can you help me buy?
Any make and model — tell us what you’re after, from a family SUV or first car to a work ute or an EV, and our vehicle team will track it down and negotiate the price for you.
Can you arrange car finance, a novated lease or salary packaging?
Yes — just ask. We can talk you through car finance and loan options, novated leasing and salary packaging through our partners, so you can compare what suits your situation.
Do I have to buy from a particular dealer?
No. We work across our dealer network to find you the best deal, with no brokers or third parties in the middle. We negotiate on your behalf and handle the paperwork.

How to get the best deal on your next car
A few simple habits make your money go further. Here’s how members get the most out of the ShopRite car buying service.
Know the exact model, variant and build
Car pricing turns on the detail — the same model can come in several variants with different engines, trim levels, drivetrains and model years, each at a different price. When you enquire, tell us the make, model, variant and any options or colour you want. The more precise you are, the more accurately our team can chase the exact car you’re after rather than a near-match.
Compare the drive-away price, not the list price
The advertised price rarely includes everything. On-road costs — dealer delivery, stamp duty, twelve months’ registration and CTP insurance — can add thousands on top here in WA. Always compare the drive-away price (the total to get the keys in your hand), and tell us your budget is drive-away so we factor the on-roads into what we negotiate for you.
Sort your finance before you fall for a car
Knowing what you can borrow — and at what rate — puts you in a stronger position and stops the deal being steered for you. If you’re comparing finance, look at the comparison rate (which folds in fees) rather than the headline rate, and weigh a standard car loan against a novated lease if you’re salary-packaging. Ask us and we’ll talk through the options with our partners.
Know what the extras cost
At signing, dealers often offer add-ons — paint or fabric protection, extended warranty, accessories. Some are genuinely useful, others less so, and they quietly add up. Because we negotiate the real drive-away figure for you first, any extras stay a decision you make on your terms rather than a surprise at the desk.
Time it around runout and end of quarter
Dealers deal hardest when they’re chasing targets — end of month, end of quarter, and especially the end-of-financial-year runout, when superseded model-year stock needs to clear. You don’t have to wait, but if your purchase is flexible those windows can mean a sharper price. Either way, send your enquiry through and we’ll work the current market for you.
Look past the sticker to running costs
The cheapest car to buy isn’t always the cheapest to own. Fuel or charging efficiency, servicing intervals, insurance and how well a model holds its value all add up over the years you’ll keep it. Weigh those in alongside the purchase price — and whichever car you choose, we’ll do the negotiating so you start ahead.
